Route "Verkhny Zub Mount"

Route: Kharakhol - Khyzyr Tiren mount - Verkhny Zub mount - Kharakhol

The Route runs on the ridges of the Kuznetsk Alatau with climbing a mountain Verkhny Zub (2 178 meters). Average altitude of 1 000-1 400 meters. It is a traditional mountain route which is very popular among tourists. Part of the route runs along the taiga. Another part - alpine woodlands, alpine and sub-alpine meadows and alpine tundra. Waterfalls, glaciers and snowfields, mountain lakes, exotic rocky outcrops that form a kind of stone town. You will cross the "Zolotaya Valley", the name of which is associated with the gold and red deer root growing, and an abundance of bright flowering plants. The valley is located in the upper reaches of the Kharatas river. Ridges are filled with snowfields. Here you will meet the reindeer, willow ptarmigan, sable, red deer, bear, wood grouse. In the rivers and lakes: grayling and lenok.

Make sure you have got a tick-borne encephalitis vaccine if you plan this hike in the summer!
