Chyornoe (Black) lake is the biggest freshwater lake of Khakassia.

Landscape

Surroundings of the lake are mainly flat treeless except for the west shore, which adjoins the birch and larch grove. The shores of the lake are swamped, especially the south shore. The lake feeds the system of irrigation canals. On the north shore of the lake the Chyornoe lake village is located.
