International Eco-Ethnic Festival of Puppet Theatres CHIR CHAYAAN
The main topic of the CHIR CHAYAAN festival is the ethnic cultural traditions of different nations through the traditional technics of puppet theatre, the environment and its possible role in the art of puppetry.
The main goal of the festival - to present the art of puppetry in the context of cultural traditions, history and environment of a region.
The festival will feature the works of Russian and foreign theaters, made in the techniques of traditional national puppet theater or based on the folk literature (legends, fairy tales, epics, etc.).
Chir Chayaan promotes the exchange of experience between the different schools of puppet theater and also the preservation and restoration of the national puppet theater traditions of Russian Federation nations and other countries.
Usually, the festival program includes:
- Show festival performances
- Curriculum
- Excursion and concert
- Session "The role of environment in the puppet theater"
Puppetry groups come here from Italy, Germany, Egypt, Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Switzerland, USA, Ireland, Japan and Russia.
